Mission of the Sun Tracker Party Hut 30
Adding the second level adds better views, more places to spread out aboard and if you are partying, more room for the extended family and friends to spread their wings in 31’2” by 8’6” boat length. By increasing the deck space by about 50% more people can be accommodated. By having two decks, different groups can be separated, such as kids and adults. The second deck also adds a festive atmosphere to the pontoon boat and its becomes the place to be on a sundown cruise. Finally, kids love the concept of a double deck pontoon boat. With cruising canvas they will want to sleep aboard and parents and grandparents will have a great time watching them play.
There are only a couple of double-decker pontoon boats on the market and the Party Hut 30 is certainly the most affordable.
Changing room/head added.
Sun Tracker is able to take some of the open spaces you need on a pontoon and move them upstairs. This allows them to have a dedicated, separated “room” for changing. This space has its full standing headroom with a locking door for privacy.
Because of the space freed up by the second deck a larger galley an be accommodated. This galley has pressure water, sink and a countertop large enough to actually prepare the finger sandwiches. There is good counter space and there are cabinets for storing all of the makings of a weekend outing.
The dinette area has seating for four people and has a removable table. The dinette and the aft sofa convert into beds. There is a drop down privacy curtain for the cabin and aft deck area the permit the boat to be used overnight. The captain's seat swivels and has self-leveling arms. It is behind the command console and it reclines.
The buoyancy tubes are 26" in diameter, and have multiple chambers. The cabin overhead has a one-piece waterproof rubber membrane for water protection. The deck is 7-ply pressure-treated material. All of the furniture backs and bases are Rotomolded. The upholstery is made of foam covered by a plastic moisture barrier and covered with UV-resistant vinyl. The deck and floor supports and frame are all made with aluminum, much of it welded and there are Z bar supports under the decks. The boat has a heavy-duty extruded rub rail.
The boat has a 12V system with two batteries. There are overhead lights, LED courtesy lights and all of the Coast Guard required navigation lights. Docking lights and a shore power connection are standard.
Sun Tracker rigs its pontoon boats with Mercury outboards. The standard engine is a 90 ELPT Optimax for the Party Hut 30. This is a solid engine, but if you regularly carry close to the load limit aboard (2,630 lb total, with 1975 lbs. the limit for people), you may want to consider a slightly larger engine. Other engines offered are the 115-hp four-stroke EFI, 115 ELPT Optimax, 150 two-stroke Optimax and the beefy 150L four-stroke Verado.
The Sun Tracker Party Hut 30 is 31’2” length overall and 8’6” in beam tipping the scales at 4,309 lbs as a package. She has twin oversized tubes, 26” in diameter, that are 29’4” long with wave guards. She carries 30 gallons of fuel and 6 gallons capacity for water and for waste.
Pricing and Observations on the Party Hut 30
If you do a lot of entertaining and are in the market for a pontoon boat, you should probably consider a double-decker toon. We know a couple in Ft. Lauderdale that have one and love it for entertaining. Also, the enclosed head makes evening on the water more enjoyable for all concerned. We would opt for a larger engine since this boat is intended to be used by a large party and the second deck does present added windage. Powered by the 115 Mercury Optimax the MSRP price is $42,695. With the 150 Optimax the price is $45,295.
